Kay Parrish's life turns upside-down when Teddy leaves her for another man. She moves into an modest apartment in Queens but her friends call it a dump. Teddy calls to say he will drop by tonight but this news makes Kay anxious. Joanie, advises Kay to keep the door locked. Former mentor, Professor Laughton, shows up and soon everything gets crazy complicated. Tensions, accusations, and flirtations pop up. Kay and Joanie clash over everything, especially Teddy. The play ends with a hopeful glimpse into Kay's future.
